My 1st International Trip to Europe with Thrillophilia

There are so many things to love about European travel, from the history to the romance to the culture to the architecture to the culinary delights. Every European destination, from Paris’ romance to Prague’s bohemia, from Rome’s iconic past to Lisbon’s flamboyance, has something to offer travellers of all types. The most popular European cities, such as Rome, Venice, Florence, Zurich, and Paris, can all be yours when you take a Europe tour with Thrillophilia.

Thus after much deliberation and having drawn inspiration from Thrillophilia reviews I set out to explore Europe with 3 of my family members on the 25th of February 2022.

We got a taste of the old-world charm of Rome’s sprawling and colourful streets. We made the most of our time in Rome by sampling some of the city’s most delectable dishes. We found out what it’s like to be inside Rome’s Most Famous Arena. We admired Michaelangelo’s enigmatic and priceless paintings from the Renaissance period. We shopped for Swiss chocolates, knives, and cheese while we were in Switzerland. We took a thrilling cable car ride to the top of Grindelwald’s majestic mountain. We took a boat ride under the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the City of Lights, and had a great time. We took advantage of the opportunity to see and shop at the Louvre museum just like how past travellers illustrated in their Thrillophilia reviews.

On the first day we arrived at Europe Airport and that marked the beginning of our Europe tour.  We met one of the Thrillophilia representatives who drove us to our hotel, where we checked in and rested for a while. Evening time took you to the Trastevere area, which is known for its traditional and innovative trattorias, craft beer bars as well as local artisans’ boutiques and galleries. We explored the historic bohemian district, the mosaic-filled church, and the famed street shops of Rome on this walking tour. After that, we enjoyed delectable dishes from around the world in an Italian setting whose experience was pretty much similar to someone’s as they had penned in their Thrillophilia reviews.

On the second day we visited the Roman Coliseum first thing in the morning for fascinating insights into the lives of emperors and gladiators. In 80 AD, it was the largest amphitheatre ever built. Roman architecture is breathtaking, and we got a chance to see some of Rome’s most ancient parts as well.

We then went to take in the beautiful sights of the “Eternal City” where we headed toward the Vatican City, home to the Pope and the spiritual centre of the Catholic Church. We saw the city’s most recognizable art and architecture in this unique setting. We took a trip to the St. Peter’s Basilica which turned out to be a memorable one. In the evening, we visited Via Cavour, where we sampled some of Italy’s finest cuisine and drink. We learnt a lot about Italian cuisine, especially that of Rome, and foodies and wine connoisseurs like us were elated beyond measure.

On the third day, in accordance with our vacation package, we continued our journey northward towards Florence. It is the capital of the Tuscany region of Italy and home to numerous Renaissance masterpieces.

As soon as we arrived in Florence, we made our way to the magnificent Piazzale Michelangelo to take in the city’s breathtaking scenery. As a symbol of the city’s rich history, it’s impossible to look away. Ponte Vecchio, an iconic bridge over the Arno River, was our next stop. The Duomo, Italy’s largest octagonal dome, is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. Piazza di Signoria, a 15th-century square surrounded by 15th-century buildings with unique frescoes and wooden roofs, was our next stop. Thus, we spent the rest of our time wandering around the city, and were able to sample some of the world’s best cuisine in the evening.

Everything about Venice is fantastic, from its rich history to its maze of canals. The beautiful Giudecca island was our destination on the boat ride. We passed through the Apennine Mountains, which run parallel to the Italian peninsula. It was a wonderful opportunity to take in the breathtaking scenery. St. Mark’s Square, Venice’s most famous landmark, was on our itinerary, Venice’s biggest and most recognisable square. This is where we found Basilica San Marco, one of the world’s most stunning cathedrals. We saw an impressive collection of 16th-century Venetian nobility art by strolling around the city’s centre. Lastly, on the 4th day we got to see how Murano Glass is made up close and personal at the nearby Murano Glass Factory.

On the fifth day we left for Switzerland from Venice and explored the lakeside city of Lugano. Afterwards we reached and explored Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city. Here we shopped for fancy chocolates. The sixth day we had an Interlaken – Grindelwald – Lucerne tour, where we enjoyed riding on a mountain cable car in the popular Alps’ village of Grindelwald.

On the seventh day, we explored Bern and proceeded towards France to enjoy a comfy stay in Paris. But it was the eighth day that stood out for us, as we always dreamt of visiting the City of Light, Paris. As part of our Europe vacation package we viewed the world-famous Eiffel Tower and took a boat ride along the Seine. We enjoyed a free afternoon in Paris, taking in the city’s most stunning artwork, and had our evening supper at the Latin Quarter which is popular for its diverse selection of restaurants serving delectable international fare.

On the 9th day we spent the entire day at our leisure. The Louvre Museum, the largest art museum in the world and a major Paris landmark, was a good place to start. We continued on to Benelux, the international epicentre for high-end fashion and luxury goods.

Keeping our specific requests in mind, Thrillophilia was able to provide us with an unparalleled European vacation, custom-tailored to our exact specifications. And, I, including my entire family shall always be grateful to them.
